Slow Food South Willamette, founded in January 2026 as a volunteer-led program, is dedicated to fostering a community that values good, clean, and fair food. We offer programs that educate and engage members in sustainable food production, food justice, and local food advocacy. Slow Food was founded in Italy in 1986, and inspired chapters in 160 countries worldwide, with 100 in the U.S. We value cultivating community and connection, reducing food waste, restoring biodiversity, celebrating food cultures, defending social and economic equality, and protecting the environment.
Become a Member of Slow Food South Willamette
Becoming a part of Slow Food South Willamette means joining a network of passionate individuals around the country and the world who are supporting the same values. We invite you to participate in our events, volunteer opportunities, and membership programs. Together, we can make a difference in our local food system and support our farmers and producers.
Want to volunteer at our next event? Want to join the board? We welcome individuals with a range of strengths, experience, and backgrounds who are interested in having a positive impact on the community. Let us know if you would like to help plan or host social and educational events.
We acknowledge that we do this work on the traditional homelands of the Kalapuyan people, whose deep knowledge of this land’s foods, plants, and ecosystems long precedes and informs our own efforts toward a sustainable food future. We honor their enduring connection to this land and recognize that meaningful food-related work of any kind must include Indigenous voices and leadership.
